Save the date for the 5th annual Librarian to Librarian Networking Summit! It will be on January 9, 2010 with the inclement weather date as January 23, 2010. Survivor: Media Center Island is for K-12 school media personnel. The sessions are roundtable discussions facilitated by experts in the profession. Our featured author is Carole Boston Weatherford, New York Times best-selling poet and children’s book author. A variety of current topics will be offered. Attendees are encouraged to bring resources to share during the group sessions.

Crystal Morris John Creech, Peter Campbell and Andre Gregory Pam Hayes Terry Bugg ]]> http://blog.lib.ecu.edu/announce/?feed=rss2&p=279 0 Interlibrary Loan Service http://blog.lib.ecu.edu/announce/?p=263 http://blog.lib.ecu.edu/announce/?p=263#comments Fri, 01 May 2009 15:45:53 +0000 admin http://blog.lib.ecu.edu/announce/?p=263 We want to reassure you that Joyner Library Interlibrary Loan services are still available to ECU students, faculty, and staff. While the Emergency Budget Management Restrictions are in place, however, we can only borrow material from libraries that do not charge fees. In addition, we have had to suspend interlibrary loans that require copyright royalty payments. But be assured, ILL activity is continuing: there are nearly 3,500 free lending libraries in our automated system, including a consortium that supplied 60% of our requests last year. We continue to search for more free lending libraries and we are investigating an interlibrary loan pay per request option that would allow the person making the request to pay for material not available at free lending libraries.
